Why: Awareness, Advocacy, Support & Community Education for women with disabilities:
Focus: To establish a network of community connections to quality Healthcare, accessible housing, employment training and tangible resources, and support for parenting with disabilities.
Where: Northeast Ohio
Mothers Assisting Mothers-MAM, Inc. is an approved 501©3 not-for-profit outreach organization for mothers diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Consideration is also given to other disabled and/or homeless women who are parenting children from birth to age 18 years old. MAM, Inc. provides tangible resources and supportive services to support and encourage these women who experience 2-3 times more difficult situations of (illness, finances, domestic violence, poverty, lack of adequate resources to accessible housing, transportation, and support to effectively parent their children. MAM, Inc. was established in 2002 and for ten years has worked with community collaborations to bring awareness about the challenges of parenting with disabilities.
